On leaving school, Ron worked as a labourer for a local bricklayer before making the move into the RAF Police – a whirlwind change which would eventually see him guarding nuclear weapons in Germany! On leaving the RAF Police, Ron was keen to continue in a security role and felt well prepared for hard work. It was well needed.

In 1990 Ron established Watch-It Security Services on Newark industrial estate. At the time, it was a hive of night time criminal activity - no area could be left unchecked and frequent pursuits were needed to chase down the bad guys.

As more and more people benefited from the rewards of Ron’s dedication to security, the client base of Watch-It Security Services grew. Watch-It Security Services were always out there, no matter the weather – keen to be able to prove their worth to customers.

With Ron at the helm, Watch-It Security Services went on to employ the best staff and buy the best equipment. We summarised the events of the week to customers in the form of a weekly report (suspicious vehicles, employees arriving for work etc.).

It’s all paid off, as now, nearly 25 years on, we as a team (fortunately) are still doing just that – providing dedicated security!

At the age of 17 George joined the Royal Air Force as a policeman, a career that spanned some 22 years and encompassed various roles within it. George initially served as a basic policeman at many bases throughout the UK and overseas.

In 1987 George took up Criminal Investigation, having carried out a special investigators course at the Royal Air Force Police School and CID Training with West Yorkshire Police. In 1988 George was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and took over as a team leader with the Royal Air Force Police Covert Intelligence Team. Here he worked hand in hand with civilian police and security services carrying out surveillance roles both at home and abroad.

For the final three years of service George worked with other senior investigators on The Defence Flying Complaints investigation team, policing the military flying system and dealing with complaints from the general public in relation to claims for compensation and breaches of flying regulations.

In 2004 George left the Royal Air Force Police and joined ranks with his old colleague and friend Ron De Raad at Watch-It Security Services where he remains to date.
